Fear Will Come/Pass
2020

Fear will come,
I can tell you that for free,
Like a moon that shadows the earth,
You will feel it cast your claims,
These times are uncertain,
In a world we’ve built on ice,
Now as earth retreats into the sea,
We too must learn humility.

Fear will come,
And many will die before all expectation,
We had dreamed life that was free of all complication,
and prepared ourselves as such,
But now is time for a new life,
A fight that bares little bloodshed,
This is no war.

Our axis will not slow,
And our water will not dry,
Our skies and river beds are clearing,
But there is this awful thing that riddles our stricken and ill and robs youth from life,
But amidst all the grief, it is giving earth time to breathe,
And we must see why.

What capital world did we give life to,
And let breed our arrogance as if it was ours at all,
Now we must retreat, like the earth into the sea,
And we must learn to live amongst this nature,
And know it can take our lives beyond all technology.

Fear will come,
But it will not last,
Nor will with awful killing,
It will pass,
It will pass,
And when it does,

The skies and riverbeds, the air and the wild
will remind us of lessons we must remember until our dying day.

Fear will come,
So will death,
But life will come too,
We are part of this ecology,
It is the wicked capital that doesn’t belong,
Pain will visit,
In numbers our young have never known,
But it will pass,
It will pass,
And we will laugh,
And embrace again,

I can tell you that for free.
